4-5 Weeks and Weights

On Friday July 1st, we took the puppies to their 4 week appointment. The vet checked them all for Over/Under bites, wormed them for the 2nd time and weighed all of them. He said they all look terrific, nobody had any over or under bites and they are growing like weeds.
We got 9 different colored collars so we could start to tell them apart.
The weights went as follows:
Females:
Red: 4.78- She is the smallest
Pink: 5.16
Purple: 5.44
Males:
Black: 6.04- he is the biggest
Light Blue: 5.84
Orange 5.38
Blue 6.02
Brown 5.54
Green: 5.2

4 Weeks old.

Puppies @ their 2 Week appointment. Everyone got wormed and weighed.

Some of their eyes were still trying to open and the littlest girl is still a hint of green. I wonder how long it will take her to completely wear all that green off, lol.

My Niece holding the little green girl. She just curled up in her arms and went to sleep.

My other niece took turns rocking each one to sleep, then she would put it down and rock another one- and so on and so forth. They are all so patient and sweet!

Their eyes were all open by 3 weeks old.

This is still the favorite sleeping position for all the puppies. It still cracks me up!
Can you also believe that 1 puppy fills the pillow that all 9 of them fit in when they were born!!

They love napping in the house with Justin.

They're all little sweethearts!
We go in to the vet today for their 4 week checkup and 2nd round of wormings. We're going to weigh everyone today, so I'll post that info later.

Dew Claws

We went into the vet yesterday afternoon and had all the puppies Dew Claws removed. They all did great. Liddy was a nervous wreck sitting in the waiting room with me, but she settled for laying in my lap and whining. When the puppies all came out of surgery, she was headed for the door.
"Okay- I've got my babies- now get us out of here"
She's so funny. The vet said everyone looks great- Liddy's feeding them well, Nobody is dehydrated or weak. No cleft pallets or any birth defects.
This little guy sleeps like this all the time! He is so funny!!!

They were all sleeping squished up in a laundry basket at the vets office waiting to go to surgery.
You can see where most of their noses and ears are starting to turn black instead of pink now.
They grow so fast!!

T-11 Days...

So...Surprise! We were just kidding.....not really--but .....
Liddy is pregnant!!!
We found one puppy at the ultrasound for sure yesterday. I saw faint shadows of maybe two more, but Liddy wouldn't hold still so for now- we just know she IS pregnant.
We only have 11 days.
Wow...

She has gained 11 pounds since her first ultrasound and her mammarys are already swelling-- a great sign since her milk came in 3 days after her last puppies were born via C-section.

So we've got her crate built- I'm making last minute arrangements between the garage and her puppy crate and the doggy door so she has access to the outside. I'm getting the heat lamp secured to the wall and getting Sophie's separate/temporary home ready so Liddy can have her space when the time comes.
So there's lots I have to do to keep me busy over the next few days...

I'm so excited- you would think I was the one having the baby, lol.
I know this will be fun!
